Thank you for reading this.

It feels a bit like I’ve said something out loud that I’ve only really been thinking to myself until now, so I’m curious whether it resonates with anyone else.

If it does, I’d genuinely love to hear from you.

Oh Jayne I feel exactly the same as you do - even more so because I'm shortly moving to a new country (which is exciting but also daunting) and worried about how I find a nice group of women friends that I can have coffee with, have a laugh with etc. My plan is to spend time in local cafes, find out if there are any local book groups etc and I've decided if there aren't any that I think would be a good fit for me then I'm going to create my own group - because I suspect there are so many of us out there in our 50s/60s who want that connection, friendship etc

Oh how exciting for you. I moved to Hamburg, Germany at 50 and lived there for 3 years. I actually found many like minded people there. I joined anything and everything, it seemed much easier not being in my own country. Good luck with the move and have fun meeting new and exciting people. x

Sixty one is quite young in the aging game… said by an 87 yr old. Having admitted that, I’ll confess that I’m still searching for a bit of purpose, having tried out an assortment of options along the way. “Never stop learning” might be chiseled on my tombstone, since I’ve advised it so often. State Universities often offer programs like OLLI… Ocher Lifelong Learning Institute. Lots of subjects to choose from, pick your interests and you’re guaranteed to meet like minded people. Usually taught by retired professors. I throughly enjoyed but I’ve moved to a rural area and no longer drive so it’s no longer an option. Good luck, and enjoy!
