Any post that conflates, chilli jam, Belazu, patio slabs and Felicity Kendal has my full attention. A lovely post, thanks for writing it.

A great hook, it certainly draws you in to what is a fascinating insight into your life.

"The Good Life."

Is it really that long ago? 1975 it it first aired on TV, and I must admit that I had a crush on Barbara Good. I actually saw Felicity Kendal when I worked in Debenhams department store in Sheffield, but was too shy to go up and talk to her.

As regards the garden, well we had two 80x40 foot allotments which we rented from the Council for 25 years. Runner beans freeze, and are great in chutney.

Have a great week.

Such a wholesome Sunday read. I was pleasantly surprised about the hill part of your home, I've just released a mad post about warring plants set on a hilltop vegetable patch with a gardener who enjoys their classical music. And the Pak Chois - I live for Pak Chois, I currently live as a hydroponics Pak Choi on Substack. I feel strangely connected to your quaint posts about warm soups, Somerset life and lemon drizzle cake still hot from the oven, just before you do the drizzle part. So lovely to have met you here. PS I'm excited for the wedding, it's been a while since I'd been to one in the summer.

Thank you, you are very kind. I’ve just checked out your post and see that I am in the presence of royalty, your words flow so magnificently. I am going to read the rest later with a cup of tea, that’s not true it will be wine, and a slice of lemon drizzle obviously!

Big words, I am beyond honoured, I hope you enjoy the slight madness. I hope you got your hands on wine, of course - cake is a delicious way to soak up a very good drink on a rainy day.

Exactly. Think I would probably leave some of the seeds out next time though, just a bit too hot for me!
